Safety & Trust

Direct trading,
clear rules.

shopitnow.ch is an intermediary platform with direct payment: buyers and sellers arrange payment and handover directly. Currently there is no escrow service and no integrated buyer protection. Here, safety comes from verification, transparency and your own careful conduct — this guide shows you how.

I · What the platform does

Four layers of protection.

Verified sellers

Sellers can have their email, phone number and company details verified. A verification badge shows which details were checked — it is a plausibility check, not a guarantee.

Two-way reviews

After every reported sale, buyer and seller review each other. Reviews and seller levels make the trading history visible.

Listing review

Listings are checked automatically and by manual sampling for prohibited content, fraud patterns and image theft. An edit history shows subsequent changes.

Reporting channels

Listings can be reported directly; profiles and problematic messages via the support form. Reported cases are reviewed; in case of violations, listings are removed or accounts restricted.

II · Verification levels

How to recognise trust.

  • 1
    Email verified

Base level. The email address has been confirmed.

  • 2
    Company details checked

For commercial sellers, the company name and details have been plausibility-checked.

  • 3
    High rating

Sellers with many positive, two-way reviews from real completed sales.

Important: a verification confirms certain details — it is not a guarantee of identity, ability to pay, product quality or delivery. Always check for yourself.

III · Safe handover checklist

How to trade safely.

Care pays off especially with high-value items such as vehicles, campers or machines. These points significantly reduce your risk:

For buyers

  • Inspect in person if possible — check on site, especially for vehicles.
  • Verify the seller's identity (name, address, company details if applicable).
  • For shipping: prefer sellers with a high rating and a clear identity.
  • No advance payment to strangers; prefer payment on handover (TWINT/cash).
  • Be suspicious of prices far below market value or pressure to hurry.
  • Keep communication on the platform — it creates a record trail.

For sellers

  • List truthfully: state condition, defects and warranty clearly.
  • Wait for confirmed payment before you hand over or ship goods.
  • Beware of overpayment scams and forged payment confirmations.
  • Document the handover (receipt, photos, purchase contract PDF from shopitnow).
  • For shipping: send with tracking and adequate insurance.
  • Report suspicious buyers instead of moving off-platform.
IV · Warning signs

When you should get suspicious.

  • !Pushing for payment outside the platform or via an unusual method.
  • !The seller/buyer refuses to talk on the phone or meet in person.
  • !The price seems too good to be true.
  • !Alleged carriers/escrow agents demanding advance payment.
  • !Forged or copied listing images, contradictory details.
Report a problem

We review every report.

Report suspicious listings, profiles or messages via the report function directly on the relevant item — or by email to abuse@shopitnow.ch. For ongoing orders, you can open a dispute in the order details.

The reporting and review process is not an arbitration procedure and does not replace legal enforcement between the contracting parties. For incidents relevant under criminal law, contact the police as well.

We will separately review integrated payment processing via an external, regulated payment service provider, and will communicate it transparently as soon as it is available.
