Help & FAQ

Quick answers.

The essentials on account, buying, selling, fees and safety. If you can't find an answer here, the support function in your dashboard will help you further.

I · Account & Sign-up

Who can buy and sell on shopitnow.ch?

shopitnow.ch is open to individuals, dealers and SMEs. Depending on the seller and buyer, both private and commercial transactions are possible.

How do I register?

Via Register with email and password. You then confirm your email address via the link sent to you.

I didn't receive a confirmation email.

First check your spam folder. You can request the confirmation again in your account settings.

Forgot your password?

Use Forgot password on the login page — you'll receive a reset link by email.

What is two-factor authentication (2FA)?

An optional additional protection via authenticator app. You enable it in your account settings — especially recommended for sellers.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Via your account settings you can request a data export and have your account deleted — in accordance with Swiss data protection law (FADP).

II · Buying

Auction or buy now — what's the difference?

Some listings run as an auction (the highest bid when it ends wins), others at a fixed price (buy now). For some fixed-price listings you can make the seller an offer.

How do I pay?

Directly with the seller. shopitnow.ch does not process payments and holds no customer funds. Arrange payment and handover directly — safest with an in-person handover. See the safety checklist.

Is there buyer protection or an escrow service?

Currently no. Safety comes from verification, mutual ratings and careful conduct — not from escrow. Before every purchase, read Safety & Trust.

Shipping or pickup?

The seller decides; it's stated in the listing. Clarify any open details before buying via the messaging function.

How do ratings work?

After a reported sale, buyer and seller rate each other. This makes the trading history visible to everyone.

III · Selling

How do I create a listing?

Via Sell: your own photos, description, category and price or auction. The content policy applies — only your own photos and accurate information.

What does selling cost?

Listing is cheap or free depending on the plan; a success fee only applies upon sale. All details on the fees page.

When is the fee due?

After a completed sale. If no one confirms the conclusion, cancellation or a dispute within 14 days, the sale is deemed completed and the success fee is triggered (internal billing measure — your rights between each other remain unaffected). We'll remind you three days beforehand.

The sale fell through after all — what now?

With «Cancel & relist immediately» you abort an open order in which no sale took place — the listing becomes active again immediately. Abusive cancellations to avoid the fee are prohibited and can lead to a suspension.

How do I get paid out?

Directly from the buyer. shopitnow.ch is not a payment service provider and is not involved in the payment between you.

What happens during a system outage?

We communicate significant outages on the platform. If an auction ends during a significant outage or shortly after (guideline: at least 30 minutes within the last two hours of its runtime), we generally extend affected auctions by 24 hours, or you can relist free of charge. If your sale was demonstrably affected, we waive or refund the success fee upon request to support. Details are governed by the Terms (section 13).

IV · Safety & Problems

How do I recognise scam attempts?

Be suspicious of advance payment to strangers, time pressure, requests for payment outside the platform, or offers that are too good to be true.

How do I report something suspicious?

Every listing, profile and message has a report function. Reported cases are reviewed; in case of violations we remove listings or restrict accounts.

Why no payment outside the platform?

Payments and arrangements outside shopitnow.ch escape traceability and increase your risk. Keep communication and evidence on the platform.

There's a dispute.

Via the affected order you can open a dispute. We review reported cases in a comprehensible way — but please note that shopitnow.ch is an intermediary and not a party to the contract.
